Rugged computers are used in all branches of the military and for good reason. Rugged computers are able to withstand the intense heat and sand of the desert or ice and rocks of the arctic and can survive the bumps and jolts of an armoured vehicle or naval vessel. Rugged computers have been tested according to military standards (MIL-STD 810F) and have daylight-viewable displays for in-field use.
